How to Choose the Right Men's Wool Overcoat

Three choices decide a wool coat: the style and length, how warm it needs to be and how it fits over what you wear under it. Every coat here is custom made to your measurements in 100% melton wool.

Pick the Style and Length

The overcoat is the longer, single-breasted coat. The Camel Wool Classic Overcoat, the Charcoal Wool Classic Overcoat and the Navy Wool Classic Overcoat end at mid-thigh as standard. Choose the long length and the coat finishes at or just below the knee, like the Grey Wool Classic Long Overcoat. Choose How Warm You Need It

Every coat is 100% melton wool, and you pick the weight when you design yours. Light is a single layer of wool, for days above 40°F. Heavy adds a second layer of wool between the outer shell and the lining, for winter.

Choose the Over Suit fit and we add room so the coat sits comfortably over a suit jacket. Precision Fit is trimmer and may be a bit snug over a suit, so choose it for a coat you'll wear over a sweater or a shirt. What Is an Overcoat?

An overcoat is a coat cut long enough to wear over a suit jacket. Ours are single breasted and 100% melton wool. They end at mid-thigh as standard, or at or just below the knee if you choose the long length. Each one is custom made to your measurements, with room for a suit underneath when you pick the Over Suit fit. The Camel Wool Classic Overcoat is a good place to start.

The names overlap. Topcoat usually means a lighter coat, and overcoat a heavier one. With ours you choose: the Light weight is a single layer of wool for days above 40°F, and the Heavy weight adds a second layer of wool for winter. What Is the Difference Between a Coat and a Jacket?

How Long Does a Custom Wool Coat Take to Arrive?

Standard delivery takes three weeks, priority takes two weeks and rush arrives in seven to eight days. If you need the coat by a certain date, order at least a month ahead and choose the speed at checkout. Every option is explained on our shipping and delivery page.

Can You Return a Custom Made Coat?

Yes. First orders come with free returns within 15 days, with a prepaid label; the refund doesn't include the original shipping fee. You can return one of each garment type from a first order.
