Getting Fitted With Sartoro

At SARTORO, nothing is off the rack. All of our garments are custom-made to order using your unique measurement profile - each starting as a ream of fabric, cut specifically to the measurements we receive and sewn together to the highest level of precision.

Fit Guarantee

Every garment we sell is backed by our Fit Guarantee. If anything isn't just how you want it, we'll cover the cost of alterations or remake the garment, free. View the Fit Promise details. You can even return your first order if you don't love it and don't want to have us fix any issues.

What if I prefer a different type of fit?

We offer three fit options - extra slim, modern & classic. These are different from typical "off-the-rack" fit options. Each option (which you'll find when you complete the Digital Tailor) is relative to your body size and affects the garment's "ease" (how much larger the garment is than your body measurements).

 

For 95% of customers, we recommend choosing Modern for your first order. This slim and flattering cut still affords room for movement and is less prone to having fit issues than Extra Slim. Modifying a garment to make it smaller is also easier than making it larger. On subsequent orders, you're able to request whatever modifications to the fit that you would like!

 

The Digital Tailor: All You Need To Know

Fit is the single most important aspect of custom-made clothing and is what elevates this category far beyond it's off-the-rack counterpart. We take getting a perfect fit for you very seriously.

 

So how does it work? The Digital Tailor is an industry-leading technology that turns a few core pieces of information about your body (height, weight, age, pants waist, shoe size) into a full set of 25+ measurements. This is accomplished with a robust algorithm, analyzing your inputs against millions of data points and more than 50,000 data body scans. The resulting Fit Profile has an accuracy that rivals getting measured by an in-person tailor (and the Fit is Guaranteed).

 

What information is needed? A few core questions (height, weight, age), your typical off-the-rack sizes and a few body type questions are all that is required to create your Fit Profile. There are a number of additional optional fields available to further increase precision.

The Digital Tailor only takes a couple minutes to complete, so it’s important not to guess. Double-check any inputs you may be unsure of -- bad data will impact fit. Do you have a unique size or shape? Have broad shoulders? Different length arms? Huge forearms? You can let us know during the process, and we'll take everything into account when crafting your unique garment patterns.

How To Create Your Fit Profile With The Digital Tailor

Create your Fit Profile using the Digital Tailor from the Get Measured page or your cart. More than 85% of all first-time orders fit perfectly right out of the box, and less than 5% of first orders need to be remade -- so shop confidently knowing you're going to end up with a fantastic custom fit.

No - taking your own measurements is not required. We have three methods of submitting measurements available within our Digital Tailor:

 

The Digital Tailor AI

The core Digital Tailor fitting option is the recommended method and requires just a few inputs to complete. We ask you a handful of questions you should already know - your height, weight, age, typical off-the-rack sizes, and a few body type questions. Additional optional inputs are available to further increase precision. You'll have the opportunity to add additional notes as needed.

 

The Digital Tailor Self Measurements

Alternatively, you can choose the Self Measure option within the Digital Tailor and follow our photo and video tutorials to measure yourself. If you do choose this method, ensure you have a friend help take the measurements. If you are having a tailor record these self-measurements for you, please use the list of measurements we require. All tailor shops measure a little differently, so make sure you have our instructions handy.

 

The Digital Tailor Garment Measurements

If you have a garment you love the fit of and would like us to replicate that fit, you can choose the measure a garment option within the Digital Tailor. We'll walk you through how to measure the garment/s with a photo guide.

 

 

Whether you choose the Digital Tailor or Self Measure, our team reviews every order for potential mistakes (we've gotten quite good at catching these. If this happens, we’ll reach out to you to double-check everything before we get started on your order. And either way, you're covered by our Fit Promise.

 

Although not necessary for the majority of orders, any additional information and/or measurements requested help us to build a more comprehensive profile for you, reducing the potential for errors and helping to ensure a great fit right out of the box!

SARTORO garments are fully custom and made from scratch using a unique, one-of-one pattern for each customer. This allows us to accommodate a wide range of body types, including those who are between sizes or have non-standard proportions.

 

We also offer virtual consultations if you'd like additional help ordering or creating your custom fit profile.

 

Post-Order Measurements Submission

Yes, you can order without submitting your measurements, and we're happy to provide assistance after you order if needed. Getting measured with us is quite easy with our Digital Tailor. It only takes about a minute, and you don't need a tape measure. Please note that prolonged delays in Sartoro receiving your Fit Profile may affect shipping & delivery times.

 

Post-Order Measurement Updates

You can submit changes or updates to your measurements after ordering as long as we have not started production yet. If you do want or need to make any changes, please submit them as soon as possible to avoid impacting the production schedule and delivery timeline.

A properly-fitting custom suit can feel snug at first and may take some getting used to - especially if you're used to a boxy off-the-rack fit - but you'll start to realize how much better you look in it. We recommend wearing it around the house just to get used to it and get a few opinions from friends and family. After getting a few compliments, that feeling of snugness will usually start to fade as you get used to the "light hug" of a well-fitted custom suit.

SARTORO offers some of the fastest production timelines in custom menswear, with delivery options including 1-week rush, 2-week priority, and 3-week standard. Delivery times may vary slightly depending on location and shipping method. Select your preferred shipping speed from the options available at checkout.

 

Within the United States & Canada, SARTORO offers free shipping on all orders over $250. For orders under $250, there is a nominal shipping fee that depends on your order total, and is typically around $30. We offer free shipping on fabric sample books. If any shipping fees apply based on your location or selected delivery option, they will be clearly shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.

 

We cover all United States tariffs and import fees. For orders outside of the United States, you are responsible for any applicable tariff and import fees, should any occur. Because tariff rules and regulations vary from country to country, we are not always able to provide an exact estimated tariff fee for international orders.

 

For orders within the United States and Canada, SARTORO offers three delivery options: 1-week rush, 2-week priority, and 3-week standard. These timelines refer to production and shipping combined, allowing customers to choose the speed that best fits their needs. Standard shipping is free on all orders over $250.

 

For international orders, shipping and delivery times may vary. We are continuously working to improve and offer the best shipping speeds possible. Generally speaking, international orders are delivered within 3 weeks. The available shipping options will always be displayed at checkout.

Yes, SARTORO ships worldwide to most countries. We regularly deliver custom garments to customers across the United States, Europe, Australia and Asia. If your country is not available at checkout, contact our team and we'll do our best to assist you.

For all orders within the United States, Sartoro pays for all duties, tariffs and taxes - you won't have to pay any additional costs beyond that.

 

For international orders outside of the United States, you are responsible for any applicable tariffs and/or import fees. Because tariff rules and regulations vary widely from country to country, for international orders we are not always able to provide an estimate on any international tariffs or import fees that may be charged upon delivery. 

 

Yes, once your order has shipped, you will receive tracking information so you can monitor your delivery in real time.

The SARTORO Fit Promise ensures you’ll end up with a fit you love, or we’ll make it right.

 

If your garment needs adjustments, SARTORO makes it incredibly easy. You can take the garments to any local tailor or dry cleaner and we’ll reimburse the cost of alterations within our covered limits. If the fit issues are more significant and cannot be corrected through alterations, we will remake the garment for free with the necessary adjustments. For first-time customers, SARTORO also offers free returns, allowing you to try your first order risk-free if you prefer not to proceed with alterations or a remake. In most cases, only minor adjustments are needed - if any at all, and our team will work with you throughout the process to ensure your final fit meets your expectations.

If your garment doesn’t fit exactly as expected, we're here for you - customer satisfaction is our top priority. Our team will work closely with you to make it right as quickly and easily as possible.

 

In most cases, small adjustments can be made locally, and we’ll guide you on exactly what to fix and reimburse the cost of alterations (up to our covered limits). If the fit issue is more significant, we will remake the garment for you at no additional cost using updated sizing.

 

You won’t be left to figure it out on your own—our team reviews your fit, provides clear recommendations, and stays involved throughout the process to ensure you end up with a result you’re happy with.

Incorrect Customizations

If you’ve received an order with incorrect customizations, please contact us at team@sartoro.co with details of the mistake as well as photos. We’ll review your order; if we did not make the garment to the specifications & customizations provided, we will correct the issue at our expense.

Yes! We cover alterations up to the limits found on the Alterations page. While we strive for the perfect fit every time, a small percentage of orders will require adjustments. This can be the case for a number of reasons, most often inaccurate Fit Profile information or simply unique fit preferences. Every SARTORO purchase is backed by our Fit Promise, which includes an alteration credit for each garment.

 

You can take your garment to any local tailor or dry cleaner, and we’ll reimburse you within our covered limits. You also have the option to receive store credit for up to double the reimbursement amount.

 

Alteration reimbursement requests must be submitted within 30 days of receipt of your order. Reimbursement requests submitted after 30 days may not be approved.

Yes—SARTORO offers free returns on first orders, which is rare for custom-made clothing. Additionally, every order is backed by our Fit Promise, which gives you two additional layers of protection:

 

  1. Alteration Credit – Most sizing tweaks are solved locally. We’ll reimburse you (up to the credit limits for each garment type) when you send us the receipt. You can opt for cash back or double the cash back amount as store credit.

  2. Free Remakes – If local alterations aren't feasible, we’ll remake the piece at no charge as long as you request the remake within 30 days of receiving the item and provide the photos and adjustment details you'd like.

 

First-Order Returns & Exchanges – On your very first Sartoro garment order, you may return or exchange one of each garment type (e.g., one suit) if you contact us within 15 days of delivery. Items must be in new condition, with tags, in the original packaging, and shipped back within 30 days of receiving the return label for a full refund. If you order multiple of the same garment type in your first order (e.g. two suits), we will send you one of the garments first to confirm the fit. When you receive the first garment, you will need decide at that point to proceed with the rest of the order or return the garment and cancel the remainder of your order.

 

Important Returns Exclusions: custom-sourced fabrics, custom linings / special design requests, wedding-party/group orders, fabric sample books, and garments made for female body types are not first-order return-eligible, though they’re still covered for alterations and remakes. Any additional cost customizations are not eligible for refunds.

 

In short, we’ll either pay for alterations, remake the garment, or—on your very first order—take it back. Our goal is a perfect fit and a happy you. View our Alterations & Returns page for more information.

 

If your garment won't be able to be fully corrected through local alterations, we’ll remake it for you at no additional cost - and you should not proceed with alterations if you and your local tailor are not confident they will be able to adjust the garment/s to your liking.

Remake Process

The process is simple, accruate and efficient. Our team will review your fit based on images you send us and your assessment of what changes you would like. Based on our assesment and your preferences, we'll get your approval on the proposed changes and apply those adjustments directly to a brand new garment. This ensures your remake is not a guess—it’s based on real fit data from your first order.

 

Remakes are produced quickly and are highly accurate, with over a 95% fit rate when they are required. To submit a remake request: go to the Alterations tab in your customer account.

 

We will then send you a prepaid return label to ship the original garment back to us. This will typically be communicated to you shortly after the remake order has been set up. If you haven’t received this information, please check your spam inbox, or you can reach out to us at team@sartoro.co to let us know. Please ship out your original garment promptly to avoid delays in your remade garment being shipped out to you.

SARTORO offers over 225 suiting fabrics, including Italian wool, Super 110s–130s merino wool, bamboo fabrics, linen and linen blends, stretch cotton, and performance wool blends. We offer vegan suiting options as well. We also offer over 90 shirting fabrics in pure cotton, cotton blends, performance fabrics, linen and linen blends, silk, bamboo (our best sellers), and even aloe. 

 

We source from a range of top mills around the world, including sourcing from Italy, Japan, Korea and more. This range allows customers to choose fabrics based on climate, comfort, occasion, and personal style. For even more options, we also offer custom fabric sourcing - providing access to our expanded collection of over 600 additional fabrics and materials. Need samples fast? Our Swatch Book Sets are prepackaged books of 10-15 fabrics, with groupings by color, fabric type and top sellers. Swatch book sets are shipping next day and arrive in just 2-4 days (U.S. Only). A wide range of our fabrics are available in the various sets.

 

Custom Sample Books

Prefer to pick the individual samples? Go to our Custom Sample Books page where our entire collection of over 225 fabrics is available. Select your favorites to build your custom fabric sample books - delivered in just 2-3 weeks. After your purchase, we provide a discount code for the cost of one book, redeemable on a future purchase. You can also make special requests to receive tie or pocket square samples, as well as to have our sourcing team locate the perfect fabric for you based on a reference image you upload. 

 

 

I can’t find the fabric I've chosen on the site. How do I order?

First try searching by the SKU on the fabric sample or the fabric name. A small number of the fabrics available in our sample books are only available by special request - to place an order in one of these fabrics, please reach out to us at team@sartoro.co and we’ll provide instructions.

 

Can I get samples of your silk satins for ties & accessories?

Yes! We can send out swatches for ties and pocket squares. You would order them from the custom sample book page - you'll see an area for special requests. Provide a description of what you're looking for and ideally attach a reference photo. Our team will put together what we have available and include it in your sample book.

SARTORO offers access to over 600 additional fabrics through our custom fabric sourcing program. If you’re looking for a specific fabric, color, or style, our team can help source options that match your request from this expanded collection.

 

To order custom sourced fabric samples: go to our Custom Sample Books page. Add your special request in the notes field above the Add To Cart button, and upload a reference image as well. Our team will locate the best options based on your description and image and include them in your book. You'll need to pick at least one fabric from our standard collection to place the order.

Yes, SARTORO offers one of the most comprehensive online suit customization experiences available.

 

Every garment is fully customizable, including fabrics, linings, lapel styles, buttons, pockets, vents, stitching details, and more. You can design your suit in real time using our visual suit designer and see updates instantly as you make changes. This level of customization is typically only available through traditional bespoke tailoring.

 

We also offer fully custom photo-print linings using customer-submitted images, along with access to hundreds of additional fabrics through special sourcing.

 

Most standard customizations are included in the base price, with any premium upgrades clearly shown during the design process.

 

We can also accommodate customizations beyond our standard options. The cost for special requests varies - for any customzations not listed in our suit designer, email us at team@sartoro.co and we'll help you build your order. We are able to handle most requests and you can also simply add order notes (in your cart) to request additional customizations.

 

Can I customize or style a suit into a tuxedo?

Yes, all of our suits can be customized or style as a tuxedo. To do this, go to the product page of the suit fabric you like, then tap “Customize” to open the suit design tool. Select “Make It A Tuxedo” to convert it into a tuxedo. We are able to use any satin color you would like for the tuxedo finish.

Caring for Sartoro Suits

We only recommend dry cleaning your suit as needed and storing it on a proper hanger to maintain its shape.

For best results, avoid frequent cleaning and follow the care instructions provided with your garment. Do not machine wash your suit.

Caring for Sartoro Pants

We recommend dry cleaning all Sartoro clothing. We don't officially recommend this, but you can get away with machine-washing shirts pants on a delicate cycle, but be sure to avoid using hot water and high heat. Never machine wash suit jackets or wool coats.

Caring for Sartoro Shirts

All shirt fabrics are preshrunk prior to tailoring. Shirts may be machine washed on a delicate cycle, but be sure to avoid using hot water and high heat.

 

 

A pro tip for keeping your suit looking fresh without dry cleaning it every time is to invest in a portable steamer. These can be bought online for around $30. The nice thing about steamers, in addition to their convenience, is unlike an iron, there is almost no risk of burning or damaging the fabrics from overheating.

Once added to your cart, you'll see an option to create your Fit Profile in the cart. Complete that process, add any necessary order notes in the cart, and you're ready to check out! We accept all standard payment options.

 

Once your order is submitted, our team reviews your details before production begins to ensure everything is accurate - we will reach out to you if we have any questions.

 

SARTORO: Gift Cards

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! You can order a gift card here. Gift cards are all digital (save the environment!).

 

How long are gift cards valid for?

Gift cards are valid for five years.

 

Can I exchange a gift card for cash?

No, gift cards may not be redeemed for cash except as required by local laws and regulations.

Can I make a change to my order?

Changes to orders must be submitted within 24 hours. Changes requested after 24 hours may not be possible or may require an additional fee, depending on how far along your order is in the manufacturing process. Please email us at team@sartoro.co to request a change and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

 

Can I cancel my order?

Orders may be canceled within 24 hours. Cancellation requests received after 24 hours may not be accepted or may require a cancellation fee, as we have likely already started manufacturing your order.

 

 

Returns are available on first orders - we offer this so you can try out Sartoro garments risk-free on your first purchase with us!

 

Which payment types do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal & Shop Pay. Quick pay options like Apple Pay, Google Pay & Meta Pay are available in certain situations, depending on that vendor's availability to handle our customization and additional pricing options, as well as the device you are using to place the order.

 

Do you offer Buy Now Pay Later?

Yes! We offer payment installments through Shop Pay. Depending on what Shop Pay approves you for, you may qualify for 4 interest-free payments every two weeks or payments spread out over 3, 6 or 12 months.

 

Do you offer Layby?

We do not offer Layby at this time.

 

Why did my payment fail?

All payments are controlled by secure third-party providers, including Stripe & PayPal. Sartoro does not store credit card information, nor do we determine if a payment is successful or fails. There are a number of reasons a payment may have failed. Here are a few recommended steps to ensure these are resolved so that you can complete your order:

  1. Please carefully review your personal details and credit card information to verify that everything has been entered correctly.
  2. Try a different credit card or payment method, such as Shop Pay or PayPal.
  3. If issues persist, please contact your bank, as your account may have been flagged for security reasons.
