Frustrated by the lack of high-quality, reasonably-priced custom formalwear, I set out to create Sartoro in early 2020, just as the pandemic was hitting. Our journey in fashion is far more complex than it appears. Unlike big corporations with millions in VC backing, we’ve grown Sartoro on our own, entirely bootstrapped with no outside capital.
Competing with the industry giants in the high-end fashion world is no small feat, but we’ve always been driven by a simple mission: to give people the confidence that comes from wearing perfectly fitted, custom clothes at a fair price. In the past four years, we’ve delivered on that promise for more than 4,000 happy customers, and we're just getting started.

Named after the latin word for tailor (“sartor”), Sartoro was established in New York City by Andy Fine, Shannon Bender and designer Kim Mesches in 2020. From early ideation, Sartoro was created to pursue a new frontier in custom fashion; one that embraces quality and craftsmanship with modest prices and a modern brand image.
This is an important representation of the way we think about fashion - a belief in favor of experiencing the essence of luxury in understated quality, forgoing pretensions in both the markup and the messaging, empowering people of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds to look and feel their best.
Sartoro is defined by its fusion of New York design, world-class craftsmanship and comprehensive personalization. Inspiration drawn from contemporary culture is combined with an emphasis on tailoring and the use of modern technology to create a streamlined, luxurious & sophisticated online experience.

Our approach is different. Fabric production is largely commoditized - the difference between the cloths of super premium brand name mills and lesser known mills has shrunk considerably. We decided to forgo extravagantly expensive Italian and English fabrics that can cost $200-$300+ per meter in favor of still very high quality fabrics that are lacking only in name.
We believe that fit and experience is everything. We believe most consumers would rather spend $500-$700 than $1200+ on a suit if the only discernible difference is a little label on the inside that says it came from some prestigious mill most have never heard of. If you agree with that sentiment, then you're in the right place.
Sartoro officially launched in April 2021, debuting a line of over 50 luxury fabrics and a full suite of customization options, along with technology to accurately predict body measurements in seconds based on a few simple questions. We've refined our sizing tech significantly over the past few years, and have added nearly 100 additional suits to our collection, along with some of the most robust customization options in the industry.
We pride ourselves on being an online only boutique. By reducing the unnecessary expenses and frivolous costs that come with brick & mortar stores and by owning our manufacturing, we're able to offer the same quality of a typical $1000-$1500 suit at a fraction of the price.
