Alterations & Returns
At Sartoro, we’re committed to making your perfect fit effortless — from your initial sizing to any adjustments you’d like to have made.
Our Fit Promise applies to every order:
- Minor adjustments? Easy. Visit your preferred local tailor — we’ll reimburse you for alteration costs up to our covered limits.
- Major issues? No problem. We’ll review the issues with you and remake the garment(s) completely free of charge.
First Order Returns:
If this is your first Sartoro order and you’re not fully satisfied — and prefer not to have any issues resolved — you may return your first set of garments received for a full refund of the garment purchase price, excluding any shipping fees or additional cost customizations (e.g. lining upgrade or full canvas upgrade).
Custom-Made Garments & EU Right of Withdrawal:
Sartoro garments are made to your individual specifications. As custom-made items, they are exempt from the standard EU right of withdrawal under Article 16(c) of the Consumer Rights Directive. This does not affect your eligibility under Sartoro’s Fit Promise or our First Order Returns policy.
Multiple Garments in One Order:
If your initial order includes more than one of the same garment type (e.g., two suits), we’ll craft and ship one first to confirm your fit and minimize waste. Once you’ve received it, simply email us your feedback — we’ll then fast-track the rest of your order.
If you require all garments to be shipped together, our Fit Promise still applies, though first-order returns will not be eligible.

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the fit?
Sartoro custom garments are based on your Fit Profile, which you can learn more about by visiting the Get Measured page. Our multi-faceted process includes analyzing your Fit Profile against thousands of previous orders and millions of data points contained within our Digital Tailor's proprietary algorithm.
What if it doesn't fit? The vast majority of first orders fit exceptionally well right out of the box. A small percentage require minor alterations that can be done at any dry cleaner or local tailor in your area. 3-5% of orders have issues that require a (free) remake - most often due to inaccurate measurement info or unique fit preferences.
Can you make standard sizes? While we believe a custom fit is always better, we can lean on standard sizes if preferred. When you complete the Digital Tailor, you'll have the opportunity to enter your off-the-rack jacket, pants and shirt sizes. We will leverage that information and anything else provided to craft your custom fit.
What is your return policy?
If you are not satisfied with your purchase and do not wish to proceed with alterations or a remake, your first order may be returned for a refund, with limited exclusions. You will be refunded for all costs exclusive of any additional cost customizations and expedited shipping fees.
Return requests must be received within 15 days of receipt of your order and returned garments must be shipped out within 30 days of approval of the return.
Return exclusions: Orders with monograms, custom printed linings, special requests, custom sourced fabrics - as well as group orders, garments made for female body types or items marked as final sale - are not eligible for returns, but are covered by the rest of our Fit Promise. Do customizations cost extra?
Most customizations are included in the listed price. Tap Customize to explore the various options and see each change on a 3D model. Premium options (such as full canvas construction or a custom lining) show their price on the option and update your total as you go.
Can I order fabric samples first?
Yes. Premade swatch book sets of 10–15 fabrics are $15, ship free and arrive in 2–4 days in the US, and they include a code for $15 off your next order. We also offer custom sample books where you can build your own set of fabric samples - also $15 and delivered in 2-3 weeks.
Are the colors displayed accurate?
From desktop monitors to mobile displays, color is influenced by both the device and screen settings. While we've gone the extra mile to provide the most authentic representation, the color you see on your screen may vary slightly from the appearance in person due to your screen's unique settings and capabilities. While any differences are generally minimal at most, if an exact color is critical we recommend ordering fabric samples first. We reimburse for the cost of one sample book if you go on to make a purchase.
Can you tailor for female body types?
Our specialty at this time is in menswear and our sizing and fit technology is optimized for men. We do accept orders for women and female body types, however due to the additional complexity and process involved in crafting garments for female body types that we have not built into our systems yet, our returns policy is limited to garments made for men and male body types.
For female and female body type orders, you should still complete the Digital Tailor but we will also reach out after the order is placed to collect additional measurement information. You are still covered by our Fit Promise and we will work with you to resolve any issues should they occur, but there are no returns on orders for female body types or where the garments are being cut for a women / female body type.
Is SARTORO a sustainable brand?
Absolutely - custom made clothing is an exception in an otherwise wasteful industry. We don't mass produce garments - every piece is made to order as the order is placed.
We try our best to minimize our carbon footprint every step of the way, from eliminating as much single-use plastic as possible, reducing the size of our shipping boxes and working with local partners to limit fabric stock on hand.
Can I pay over time?
Yes. Choose Shop Pay installments or Affirm at checkout to split the cost into interest-free payments or a monthly plan, subject to approval.
