Standard

Regular stitching is a fine choice and by no means a poor look. Lapels and pockets are machine stitched on by an expert tailor. This is a more efficient way of crafting a garment, but still results in a high quality garment.

Choose standard if you're not as fussy about small details.

Pick Stitching

Pick stitching refers to the small and discreet stitches around the edges of your suit jacket and other pieces. It is a classic and hallmark feature of a high-end suit and used to be a clear indicator of a skillfully handcrafted suit.

This time intensive process is a subtle yet distinctive feature.

Half Canvas

Half canvas construction is the modern standard for quality suits. The interior canvas, comprised of a horsehair fabric, extends from the shoulder pad about halfway down the jacket. This provides essential form and structure without excess weight or rigidity. Full canvas available by special request.

*recommended*

Unstructured

Unstructured or "unconstructed" is crafted without canvas for a more casual, summery look. Typically paired with light, bright fabrics and often with linen, unstructured is a great choice for relaxed wear. This is not recommended for formal or semi formal garments.

Standard

Also referred to as the "continental" shoulder, this style falls evenly between roped and unstructured (soft). This style features light padding with a strong, straight line from the collar down to the edge of the shoulder, finished with light "roping" where the sleeve is connected.

*recommended*

Roped

Also referred to as the "english shoulder", this style has the most structure, featuring strong padding and a distinctive roped finish where the sleeve connects to the torso. This style is preferable for men with sloped shoulders and those with a less athletic build who are seeking to accentuate the shoulder line.

Soft

A soft or "unstructured" shoulder has no roping and follows the natural, downward slope of the shoulder. This look is often perceived as more casual, though a soft shoulder works well for men with large builds and those with square shoulders. Shoulder pads are still utilized, but the sleeve drapes naturally around the edge.
